Event Summary

The Student Biotechnology Network (SBN) is delighted to kick off our 2013-2014 season in celebration of National Biotechnology Week with our annual Building Biotech Event. This year, we hope to address key issues evident in the local life sciences industry. Our carefully selected panel of life sciences experts and leaders will discuss the current state of life sciences in BC, identify growing areas of opportunity for students with highly specialized skills and provide their predictions for the local life sciences industry.

This event is an excellent opportunity to better position yourself for future employment by learning about the landscape of the industry, the economic factors that have influenced recent industry changes and growing areas within life sciences that could use specific skill sets.

Join other enthusiastic students and network with industry professionals, while gaining insight into the local life sciences industry over a delicious three course dinner.

The SBN Building Biotech event is a business formal event at the beautiful Sheraton Wall Centre in celebration of National Biotechnology Week. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the current state of the life sciences industry in BC and gain insights as to which areas within life sciences are growing and declining, as well as learn about what economic factors influence the local industry. Our expert panel of speakers will also give their outlook on the future of life sciences in BC.

A ticket to Building Biotech 2013 includes a three course plated dinner and complimentary non-alcoholic punch. The first 50 people to register will receive one free alcoholic beverage ticket. Building Biotech 2013 ticket sales will end on September 17th at midnight.
